Yes exactly like that. I'm almost certain it came from inside the fish.

It was like a sea urchin but white and the strands where like cotton like a fuzzy ball.

Interesting did you say you had it on another plant or was that someone else? I've had an hy511 do a similar thing. I actually witnessed it come out of it.

It came out of the fish and stuck to that plant.

Something came out of its mouth when it was in the quarantine tank too. That looked like brown mucus but could have been partially digested food?

fish will regurgitate food if they feel like it's time to fight for their life..
