Tonight I'm noticing my nemo fish is not looking too good. His fins look like they're rotting off and his orange color is fading. He seems to be loosing the battle and can't keep 'balanced'

I tested the following;
temp 80
PH 8.2 -> 8.4 hard to tell with the color charts
Alk norm -> high again hard to tell with the color charts
amonmia level looks like 0.0 yellow not green on the charts
nitrate looks like 10mgl otherwise clear not yellow.

I do not have a QT.

Should I net him and put him out of his misery ? Whats the best way - a friend say to freeze him in a paper towel ?? !!

More importantly what's wrong? I only have (1) blue/green damsel (1) yellow clown goby, (1) red banded shrimp and (1) emerald crab.

Could they get sick as well.

BTW - I bought nemo March 23rd.

TIA - Brian

Getting one would be your best move. Could be a number of things including Brooklynella.
How long has he been in your tank?

I bought the fish March 23rd . yesterday I noticed a silk like string hanging on under his belly, this morning didn't notice any thing 'wrong' until tonight. He looked like he aged - faded orange, looks like fin rot -

I just took him out and put him in the freezer to finish him off :cry:

If he had a parasite I didn't want to infect the rest of the tank and besides I don't have a QT yet - Im sure he would not have made it through the night anyway.

Expensive hobby, huh?
