If you can, pull the rock out and pluck them off over the sink, then have a squirt bottle of saltwater to rinse off the rock..... definitely do NOT want to accidentally pop one of those while it's still in your tank. The fluid inside contains spores that will spread this stuff like mad, and once you get it, it can be an absolute nightmare to get rid of.
If you can't get the rock out, hold a siphon hose right above it to suck out the fluid in case you pop one trying to get it.

Thanks for the replies and the link. The thing is gone today. No sign of it after having been there for about a month. I don't have much in my tank right now..but maybe something ate it?! I have 2 turbo snails, 1 red hermit and a sea urchin. No fish as they are all in quarantine due to outbreak of ich.
