I have a 100 gallon fw tank I recently purchased 5 mystery snails . Will this species breed and take over my tank?

Uhhhh depends I guess. Yes they can breed if they are of age and you have females and males. But they lay egg sacs (google it for more info), which are easy to find and remove. But if the egg sac hatches, you will get a lot of babies. i have 6 in one tank and they have not bred yet, or if they did they aren't going a good job!

My mystery snails breed like crazy. I allowed one egg sac to hatch which contained a ton of babies. After that I began to discard the egg sacs. I like that you can easily control the population since they lay above water.
