species tank?

I am still waiting for my tank to cycle and a new heater to come in before I order my fish and I was wondering what everyone thought of a species tank. I have a 36 gallon bow (I know larger is better but this is what I have). I am not going to do this for breeding, i just think it would look nice to have everything uniform. What fish would work better as a species tank? Thanks

how advanced are you as an aquarist ?

depends how much time you have to care for the fush aswell as to what would be a good species tank . but discus would be the 1st choice for me but they need alot of looking after .

tetras are also a good choice as they are a shoaling fish looks very nice when you have around 30-40 of them or maybe some cichlids
