I recently was asked to post pics of how my sps's were reacting to the new 20k radiums with lumenmax reflecors and running galaxy ballasts.
After 4 months I have to report the following:

These acro's are toward the very top and were already in the tank when the new lights were installed. These guys were acclimated from 3hrs a week to the current 6 hrs.

What I determined with these acro's was that since they were 10-15 inches away from the lights they still needed more time to acclimate to the new light source. Possibly 2hrs per day to begin. I still think that they are acclimating. Why? Because of the richer coloring that I am noticing.

My next post will show those sps's that were further away from the light source during the same acclimating time frame.

:D

Yeah those are some excellent looking corals. Great camera as well lol. What kind of lighting do you have because some of those look like they've gone through some serious growth. They are all so colorful. Awesome corals and thanks for sharing with us. I think having corals like those is the goal of all reef keepers.

Lighting consist of 3 250 wtt radiums. They all have the lumenmax reflectors and are being ran with galaxy ballasts. I also have the superbright LED's in actinic.

Now these corals have been in tha tank but were placed half way in the tank. My observation was that these guys faired better when acclimating to the new lights.

This is my pearl berry frag it was originally placed away from the light source and middle of tank. I moved i a month ago and it went from totally brown to this coloring combo. I'm sure it will go back to its glorious color!
