Starfish?

I noticed that my starfish has been staying in the same spot so I tried picking it up but it seems like it is decaying, but it is alive.the pink tenticles are still moving. Even part of the arm that fell off. What the heck is going on?

Many starfish will decay in home aquariums which is why they are considered expert only. They feed off of micro fauna and micro organisms in the sandbed for the most part so its pretty hard to properly feed them especially in a tank under a year old.

Hmm when I looked it up before buying it , they called it "easy" I feed my tank about every other to every day. Should I be feeding it more? Or is there anything I can buy to help it? I am so sad.

What kind of starfish is it first of all?

Sorry it is a sand sifting starfish. I tried target feeding it mysis shrimp and daphnia last night.
