Starting 55gal FW

Hello i just got this 55gal tank with all kinds of stuff! i wanted to know what would be the best way to set it up with what i have...

55gal Tank
350 magnum marine land canister filter
2- Bio wheel filters
2- heaters
2- air pumps
Amiricle 3000 what looks to have been used as a sump
1 sump pump
Protein skimmer... do i need this for FW?

I would like to get some live plants and either koi, bala shark, or plec, mix going

Also should i use both the sump and filters or ....? do i need a sump for this?

Any tips on placement of everything would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome! Congratulations on your acquisition.

Sounds like you got your hands on a great setup. You don't need a Protein Skimmer for FW, nor a sump. I think you can actually run these on FW setups, but I do not have adequate knowledge on them. I do know, though, that they are highly unnecessary for FW.

Do some research on the nitrogen cycle as well; it is the most important aspect of any aquarium.

well i finally got it all setup and its going pretty good. I tested today and these are my results:

Am:0
Ni:0
Na:40

now should i lower that Na by doing a partial water change ? down to 20 right

i also just got some fish and they seem to like it. I got 2 bala sharks and 3 tiger barb.

How many more could i add?
