I was having ammonia issues in my QT. I added seeded media. The ammonia went to .25 or 0 and the Nitrites and Nitrates remained at 0.

My pH spiked yesterday. Where in the cycle am I?

I cleared out the fish and wanted to try to finish it off by adding ammonia. I figured since the pH was high that may be fine BUT I don't want to mess it up if I am mid cycle. Am I safe to just start dosing ammonia?

Thanks

If there are no fish, your fine to start dosing ammonia. If its a very small tank (under 10g) I would only dose to 2ppm. The high ph wont affect anything unless 9+ so no worries! :)

Great thanks! Now to try to heal the fishy that was affected by the pH spike. I totally forgot that because we have high pH water the ammonia was more toxic. Wasn't even testing the pH during ISO. Hopefully it will cycle quickly for the next QT bunch.
