Hi,

I have a 28 litre tank that I want to set up and put some sort of shrimp in. However, I also want some fish in there. Looking for suggestions / ideas of what fish and numbers to put in as haven't done such a small tank before?

I have considered so far ember tetras, Pygmy Corys, Endlers and galaxy Rasbora!

I've kept all of the above; they're all great choices for a small tank. You may also want to consider cherry barbs. They're not schooling fish and will do fine in a 7-gallon tank. I've successfully bred them in 5-gallon tanks. Also look into neon tetras, otocinclus (once you have enough algae), flame tetras, Boraras brigittae and B. maculatus.

I'm pretty sure than cherry barbs are schooling. But you could choose a School of Pygmy Cory's or the galaxy in with shrimp. I would choose the galaxy's because the Cory's and shrimp both take the bottom so the galaxy rasboras would take the top. Also, mabe a couple nerite snails.
