Stocking question

[Cichlid Hobbyis]

Hello,

I currently have a 55 gallon aquarium with mbunas and peacocks. I have 10 cichlids who will all top out around 5-6 inches (right now they are all about 2-2.5 inches). I have over the top filtration because I know you are suppose to over stock the aquarium.

My question is how many cichlids can I have in a 55 gallon aquarium?

I consider around 14 adults to be fully stocked. Up to maybe 16. You are aware most mbuna shouldn't be stocked with peacocks right?

Yea I know I've done lots of research to see which ones go with plus all my peacocks are twice the size of the mbunas

Yeah, I personally house a few peacocks with yellow tail acei and yellow labs in a 60. My current count is 5 acei, 4 labs, 2 peacocks. I would say around 14-16 is safe. I have seen 25+ but I don't recommend it.
