Stocking rainbowfish

how many rainbowfish can i put in a 65 gal? i have a few tetra, pictus cat, rapheal cat, and a rainbow shark in the tank now?

Probably about 4 what kind were you thinking?

It really depends on what species of rainbow you want to get. Some, like threadfins, stay small, while others like iranian reds, get quite large. I've seen what I think was an iranian red that was 9" long and with a body the size of my hand.

You could probably put 4-8 Praecox or Boesemani rainbows in that tank without a problem.

Yes I just bought 3 boesemani, 2 turquoise, and 2 red. Could I have a few dwarf neon rainbows in there to?

I think you've got room for a few Praecox rainbows.
