Submersible heater placement

Does the angle if a submersible heater matter? What is best, vertical, horizontal or diagonal ? It's in a 55g and is 200W. and is it best to be by the power filter?

I prefer to place my heaters horizontal about 2" above the substrate farily close to the filter intake. I don't know that there is a 'best' angle for them, but that's the way I prefer to have it... and it helps hide it, especially with plants or driftwood in front of it.
