Sudden German Blue Ram aggression

So I've had a male/female pair of GBR in a 44 gallon heavily planted community tank when the male suddenly became aggressive to the female. This was unexpected as both had been with each other in the aquarium for about 3 months and had spawned twice. I'm not sure what to do about this and now the female hides all of the time and whenever the male sees the female he will chase her and she loses all color. Any help would be appreciated.

How long has it been since the last spawn? He could be ready and she may not.
