Suggestion stocking ideas for 32 & 20 Gallon?

I want to restart them and use experience I have of fishkeeping now. I also want more bigger (not to big - max 4inch) and colorful fish and that don't require alot of maintenance.

I'm interested in Cichlids for my 32 Gallon, which ones can I fit in and how many?

What are your suggestions?

What type of cichlids? African? South American?

Oh and for any tank: cories!!!!

I really don't know the difference sorry, are both of the species mixable?

I like south American ones better because I can have different kinds of fish with them.
Some examples are german blue rams, bolivians, keyholes, angelfish, and apistogrammas would all work. (the only one I'm not sure of are the keyholes)

Oh and yes the Africans are mixable too but I don't know them well at all...
