All right I'm going to be setting up a new 55 gal. Due to the fact that I did about what every pet store will tell you to do last time, and cycled my tank with stupid damsels, I'm looking for advice on a better way. Read the aritcle about starting the tank with shrimp from the grocery store, and that's what I plan on doing. I'm getting rid of my CC and want to put in sand. Where do I find sand that will suit the pupose that isn't terribly overpriced? Also can I add a small amount of LS to my DSB and seed it with the LS? Also do I need to wait until my tank is cycled before I add LR or can I do it all at once? I'll be adding only a small amount of LR, part because of cost, part because I want to seed some other rocks with it. I like growing my own stuff.
