Been to Monteray Bay twice...loved it
Been to Tennessee Aquarium multiple times (lived in TN for 5 years) love it as well...but I can't wait to go back out to Cali so I can go to M B!!!

Another vote for Baltimore's Inner Harbor aquarium. I usually take a trip up the road once per summer. The seahorse exhibit is really cool as is how the huge ocean tank(s) spiral when you go down the stairs. Go during the week if you want to avoid 'some' of the crowd.
Another one I found was in Tarpon Springs, FL. The fellow hopped in the tank and was hand feeding a nurse shark. They also have a section where you can hand feed bamboo sharks and rays with little cups of fish.

If you're looking for an awesome place to visit, along with beautiful scenery and an excellent aquarium try vancouver, bc. We have EXTREMELY good weather up here right now as well.
