In January, i bought myself a birthday present I'd been dreaming if for almost six years- a 'real' fish tank, none of the tiny 5g and 10g I'd cared for when in college.
I found the perfect stand, using it to talk my roommate/landlord into letting me get this, and then setting it up in our living room.
Our dining/living room is a red and espresso colour theme, and we got my 29g up and looking pretty good for an initial setup.

Since I'm on my phone, i can only post one picture at a time, but i will try and space posts out to not spam the forum.

At the time of starting this journal, i have a pair of guppies, and a week old fry, 5 black kuhli loaches, 2 red cherry shrimp, 5 ghost shrimp, 5 l.f. gold danios, 5 l.f. blue danios, and 3 red/pink glo danios

I was not the only one happy with our new tank, now dubbed the 'cat tv.'
While i love my danios, my roomate's cat loves the loaches.

No no no post them pics like you mean it!!! We love pics!!! I can add more then 1 pic while on the app. I think I can add 5 at a time

Maybe its just my phone then, but when i try to attach a second picture, it just replaces the first instead of having two attached.

Here is my lone guppy fry. She was found on the 15th, and her mother sadly died on the 18th. She's being housed in a recycled betta tank that was gifted to me years ago (advertised as a duel tank - the horror! )
I'd been using it as a pen holder, but its been working out great here. It suctions itself to the side of my main tank, so the temperature stays regular. When she gets bigger, the divider comes out, so she has a safe place until she's big enough to join the othets

Went it get a new water thermometer today, and ended up picking up this little one- got a picture when moving him/her to the holding tank when (s)he refused to come out of the bag.

Any one wanna help me guess the gender?

My roommate (who is also my landlord, so she does have final say) doesn't want tanks everywhere, so i redesigned my stand and changed the shelf level (not a fun thing to do while its still assembled) so i can fit an old tank inside it (took some tweeking to get the lid to fit)
Its cycling now, but i plan on using it to breed danios. I've started to condition my ladies in the main tank, and it looks godawful, but seems to be working well.

My other guppy mommy started having babies last night. Looks like they'll be inheriting that breeder tank first, once its cycled ;)

Sorry about the glare. Also messing with filter options to try and get clearer water. Got purigen in now, quite the difference.

Got a different backer on, needs to be pressed down better, but that's gonna have to wait awhile until i can do a 50%wc, because that tanks not going anywhere.

Also extended the tiers in the back... Got some small things to fix, but loving the look of it right now. And the fishies seem to be enjoying it too

Thank you!
It was the roommate's color scheme-she loves red

Got my new filter today. Can't wait until the bb settles in, but for the time being, i have to hang the old one off the front

Got two long finned leopard danios and three otocinclus. Sadly one oto died before i even got him home, and an other in the qt over night. So now this poor little one is all alone. The danios, of course, are fine.

Id also like to share that my fry recognize me as the food bringer, and come over to greet me

I have the same stand on my 20g long. How did you get the other tank in there? Did you have to remove the sliding doors? I drilled a hole in the back panel and placed the power strips and timer in there. I like putting the heater and filters on one power strip (with an on/off toggle) so no more wet hands trying to unplug something during a water change.

My small tank is a trapezoid, so it slipped in there just perfect. I did have to remove to rim, and cut the hinges from the lid though. The tank had to go in backwards, and its such a snug fit that the inner door doesn't move very easily.

Not feeling the blue background- but the water is looking so very much better!
Still hazy, but i can start to read the food canister though it long ways.

Tried black background this time.... Dont like it much either >.<
Got a chance to sit and count my fry-20 days old, and 26 in total.
I'm stocking up on frozen food, so my pet sitter had lots of choices while I'm out of town. I'm nervous-leaving for nearly two weeks.
And of course, one of my LF leo danios has was suspiciously looks like ich.... Been treating that for the last couple day-crossing fingers it'll be cleared up before i leave.

Some little guys are getting pretty big-little porkers! (same with my Oto... He's almost too fat to stay stuck to the glass)
The larger fry are starting to get spots on their heads, the biggest one is getting some dots to the base of her tail.
I'm gonna end up missing so much of their growth over the next week....
I'll be back on the first of April.... I just hope my pet sitter doesn't have to try and move anyone while I'm gone

Back home.
Tank water's a mess, but the only death was my oto. Mommy guppy dropped again while i was gone, at least four survivors.
Let my first fry batch loose in the main tank. They're big enough now that the danios won't east them, so we'll see how it goes

Sorry about the glare.
Re-arranged the tank alittle. Thinking about lining the entire back with 'bamboo' but I'm still testing it out
