I have had these tiger shrimp for about 5 months now, and i read online that to sex them you look at their belly if it is more round then it is female and if it is flat it is male. im not sure what these two are, but it seems that they are both either male or both female because after 5 months neither have shown signs of eggs.
They are being housed in a 10 gallon tank with around 15 RCS and Platy/Molly fry, it gets 20% water changes once a week and the water levels are
PH: 6.8
Temp: 75
Amonnia: 0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 0.5

so at this point i would like to ask if anyone has experience with them and could tell me if they are male or female and if they are one of each why are they not breeding.

Thanks for your time:thanks:

If I had to guess I would say both male. Hard to breed just two shrimp anyway. No chance of lowering that temp a bit? I keep my blue tigers at 72 and I have a few berried but I also have a shrimp only tank for them. Enjoy them even if they don't breed. Shimps are just too cool IMO.

unfortunately i cant lower the temp of the tank, i can shut my heater off but the temp of my apartment keeps it at 75* thank you for the reply though, i have been looking around for more tigers but no one around me has any for sale, they are very cool to watch!

thank you for the reply hopefully i will be able to get my shrimp breeding so i can enjoy the little ones growing up

both are males i cant see a saddle, and both are skinny.

the cherry in the #2 male pic is a male also and after 5 months no eggs.
both are males.

shrimp cannot stop breeding when everything is right:D

Lol.. Very old thread. No need to revive ;p
