should i get snails for my 20 gal. breeder tank, i have a breeding pair of kribs and algae is becoming a problem.

what kind of algae? Snails aren't going to rid you of the problem, you need to get to the source. Snails can help with some cleanup, but if you've got a problem they won't be able to solve it.
