Toadstool coral behavior/problems?

Hello,

I have three toadstool corals and every now and then, the projections come out then retract. I have yet to see all three of them opening up together. They can be completely closed (no projections seen) then one day they come out then they go in again. Nitrate is 5 ppm. Ammonia and nitrite are zero. I have three powerheads (Kolia) in my 130 gallon tank. DP

Leather corals do what we call sloughing. It is when the look pretty bad one day and then they look pretty good usually for a couple weeks. I gather from what you are saying that they only look good for a day or two before they slough again.
