Turn on the light

Hey... just been reading that because fish have no eyelids it's not a good idea to turn on the aquarium lighting first thing in a dark room. It was suggested that you turn on some room lighting first for a while, let the fish adjust, and then turn on the aquarium light. Makes sense I suppose since the sun doesn't just turn on full every morning. What are some thoughts on this?
 
I guess it makes sense. Fish don't really sleep like people know, I think they go into more of a trance or something. They always do it in the same spot though, at least for me. Newly acclimated fish get stressed easily over bright lights so it's a good idea to turn those off after you just acclimated fish to your tank.
 
On my tanks that don't have the ramp up/down lighting I do try and use room lighting to help with the adjustment for them.
