Type of soil

Okay so I am going to setup a grow out tank for my little plants. I want to use soil and I was wondering what type of soil I need

I used some top soil from Ace hardware. Put down a thin layer, less is more. Make sure you complete the sand or gravel cap before you fill up the tank. Mistake I made was leaving some dirt exposed. Made my water super cloudy, yours will probably be murky for a couple days until it all settles. You can get rid of it through smaller PWC's
