We bought new fish today just to find my heater is broken. I did a partial water change as soon as I got home but the water is super cold and i am afraid of putting the new fish in the tank inc ase they might die. Should i leave them in the bags till it heats up a little? its a large angel and big guarami.

Try adding as much hot water as you can to bring the temp up, as in add as much water (the hottest you can get it) to try and balance the temp

Sini's my personal bucket lugger..er, I mean husband

i lost power and my temp was dropping hard yesterday. The thermometers still work as long as you dont have digital. I was doing a 5gal bucket wc when it dropped 5-7 degrees (on a 60 gal). Also if its dropping FAST try wrapping it in a blanket.

If you have another tank i would put them in their until you get a new heater.

Thanks guys. Just about everyone is doing okay now. I had an extra Heater I was gonna put in my new tank but I'll just have to buy another
