Water changes during breeding

I have two green severums that are breeding. The female laid eggs and the male has successfully fertilized them. Is it ok to do a PWC? the ammonia level is a little high

Yes, just don't put the gravel vac near the breeding area. Try not to do too large to stress the parents.

nope it was ammonia. I upgraded from a 29g to a 55g using the same filter and all and the tank was cycled at its last home but I guess that my filter didnt have enough bacteria built up to handle the increase. Not to mention that I added the adult severum a couple days prior so I'm sure he's letting out a lost of waste

If you have ammonia, you have no choice about the water changes.
