most of you know i set up my new 90 gal almost a month ago now... my new question is about the water flow around my tank....

i have a Eheim Classic 2217.... the intake and the return are on the same side of the tank... the return spray bar is positioned on the side wall and aimed directly across the top of the tank aprox 2" below water level...

i have mostly barbs, danios, corys and 3 shrimp....

is this enough of a flow? the water below the spray bar seems almost stagnant...

2 ideas come to mind.... either get more tubing and move the return spray bar to the opposite side wall so it pushes water towards the intake...

or... a powerhead?

im open to all suggestions....

i would have the intake and out put on other sides of the tank. power heads also can be used to help with dead spots.

I would move the in/out so they are at opposite ends. Another option is to extend the intake deep in the tank, and have the spraybar horizontal at the top, pointing at the opposite end.
