I'm switching my freshwater community to a bigger tank in my house. The new tank had highish nitrates (50-60 ppm), so I did a sixty percent water change and filled it back up with treated water (0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 0 nitrates). So theoretically, nitrates should now be down to about 20-30 ppm. But I'm still wanting to test the water to make sure it's safe for the other fish and shrimp. What I'm wondering is if the water conditioner will tamper with the water test results. Do I need to wait 24 hours to get an accurate test? Thanks in advance!
