I will be keeping these types of fish. I have kept some, but over the years I have encountered many opinions on what the ideal temperature is for these fish and I want a more definitive answer. I don't want to shorten their lifespan.

1 Gold Severum
1 Blood Parrot
1 Jack Dempsey
2 Black Convicts (not breeding them)
1 Oscar

There is not going to be any definitive answer here. Those fish come from completely different waters and one of them is man-made.

I would probably keep the tank in the 75-78 range. If you really want to maximize their lifespan you could probably go a little cooler although going too cool will slow their growth if they are not already full size adults.

I hope you have a very large tank.........

They will be going in a 125 gallon. It's a little over 6 feet. I was initially going to keep them at 80. Looks like I'll go down a few degrees.

All those in one tank?

High 70s keeps them healthy and active. Lower 70s seem to cause them to mellow out a bunch, pretty much becoming lethargic. 76-79 would be great.
