What is this algae/growth

Hi everyone, I got this light fluffy growth on one of my drift woods. Any ideas what it's is, what causes it?

It's normal for driftwood to do that. Some fish will eat it, otherwise it will go away on its own.

+1 it's harmless. Just not pretty to look at till it passes.
