If it just eats algae, why would you want to take it out? Hard to tell what it is from the underside. Can you get a pic if the top/shell?

It's kind of hard to take pic's- it only comes out at night

Looks like a Stomatella snail... I have many in my tank... Google it and see if it matches up. They're harmless, and actually can be kinda quick for a snail. Makes it fun to watch them

I would agree with stomatella given its flat appearance. Quick little nocturnal algae-muncher.
