What is wrong with my tank?!

It doesn't absolutely have to be tank.water...I wash my filter floss in regular water, only because my hkb filter is strictly for detrius and hard waste, I don't need it for beneficial bacteria

Also, charcoal "polishes' the water. If you used to use it and then removed it you might notice that it was not as clear as with the charcoal.

On the aqueon quiet flow filters there is a "bio-holster" and the filter floss. They replaced the floss, so they should be fine, unless there is no bacteria in the holster.
