Can someone tell me what kind of cichild a blue body with yellow fins is?

If we are IDing I guess acei well bodys almost black but pic will help if we are IDing.

Id the fish I just seen one at my LFS buy all the tank said was assorted cichilds

Without a picture it's almost impossible to tell.There are many cichlids with this colouring.
Red top ice blue zebra
Yellow tailed acei.
Red afra.
To name a few.

yes im wondering as well, are the alive still? i would think that would harm there slime coat.

Yes it will strip off their slime coat which can make them more prone to bacterial skin infections that can kill them.

I had them out trying to vent them and did one at a time n didn't lay but 2-3 seconds on the rag long enough to get a picture
