I want to start a 25 gallon brackish water tank. I'm planning on starting with baby figure 8 puffers and baby green spotted puffers. My first question is what kind of salt and how much do I use to get brackish water? My second question is I have heard green spotted puffers eventually need full salt water. Is this true?

You use marine salt just like you would use for a saltwater tank. I have no idea on the puffers sorry.

F8's do best in a low brackish setup with a SG around 1.005 and the GSP does best with a SG above 1.015. People often keep their GSPs around 1.020 so they can use a protein skimmer and live rock. The 2 species of puffers are really not compatible since the GSP needs at least 30 gallons and a higher SG then the F8.
