What should I put in my filter?

I have a 29 gallon tank with one angel fish and 6 long fined leopard danios. I cycled my tank a long time ago using the fishless cycle method. Right now all I have in my filter is that poly fluffy stuff, but what else should I have in there?

What kind of filter is it? You should have some bio media and a sponge or two.

its a aqueon 30 gallon filter it came with the kit. Whats bio media?

Bioballs or ceramic noodles, it is media designed to provide maximum surface area for bacteria to grow. I am not sure what will fit in that specific filter.

is there a certain way I should layer it and can I make the switch in a day or do I have to make the switch over a few days?

You want go heavy to bio so the heavy sponge first, then finer filter media then bio media.
