I would like a tank with a 1 inch drain line and 3/4 inch return. What size should the tank be drilled?

You'll need to get a special diamond bit to cut the holes.
1" bulkhead fits into 1 3/4" (45mm) hole
3/4" bulkhead fits into 1 1/2" (39mm) hole
1" bulkhead fits into 1 3/4" (45mm) hole
3/4" bulkhead fits into 1 1/2" (39mm) hole
