What sise tank do a pair of pearl gourami need?
I'm a beginer

I would say a tank at least 3ft long and about 30 gallons they do get biggish and are very active, especially when breeding.

I'd agree, a 29 would work. A 20 long would work as a species tank IMO.

Yep, that would do it - lovely fish, don't usually like Gourami, but the Pearls are lovely - my dad keeps them and used to breed them for the market in Northern Ireland. If the size of tank was a problem dwarf gourami's could be an option.

I have a pair of Opaline in my 180ltr (approx 47 us gallon). They are pretty active fish so it's worth having a heavily planted tank with a nice large footprint. Mine's 3.25 foot and 15inchs wide. They dominate the top of the tank so plenty of footprint rather than height to ballance out territory.
