When will my peacock change color

I have 4 of these, when will they get the nice color they are supposed to have? They are jacobfreibergi

By the way they are only 2-3 inches long

At 2-3 inches long they should be coloring up. They might be famales an will stay brown/gray.

Any shimmer of color at all anywhere on them? My peacocks started getting small color tones behind the gills and on the pectorals at that size.

Lots of orange on the anal fin

If its a male you should be seeing small flakes of blue along his jaw at this point

Hmm, tough one, I would give em some more time, maybe a month or 2 if they still don't have any touch of color anywhere, yes, you have 4 females.

Well in this situation, I would find a colored up male, and set the tank for breeding conditions and yes you should especially with 4 hosts lol

Would it be possible to just setup a breeding tank for just these 5 fish, cause I want more colorful fish in my main tank.
