Both look to be amazing filters. I plan on lots of plants and schooling fish to keep the tank active, a crayfish or shimp as a scavenge clean up crew. Not sure on having a "show piece" fish

I have two different sizes of the SunSun (AquaTop) filters. It is a great filter. Powerful, dead silent, easy to clean and never had an issue with it. They are huge and can hold a ton of media. The only "con" I can think of is the plastic plumbing bits for the intake and return are a little cheap and easily broken if you are not careful, never broke them myself just letting you know.

Eheims are excellent filters also. I have not used them but all who do say you can't go wrong with them.

I think you will be happy with either one.
