Pick one and stick with it over searching for the "best" salt (which is a relative term anyway). All salts will need to be buffered in some way anyway...some it may be alk, others it may be calcium, and yet others PH. Consistency is most important over switching around brands looking for the salty grail.

Well put...there is no salty grail! If you do a search on this topic you will find many different opinions, and many different successful reef keepers.

Most people would prefer oceanic or instant ocean. Lots of people swear by instant ocean.

i use the reef crystals because i had a problem keeping my calcium levels up with Instant Ocean. I switched to reef crystals and have been using that now. I seem to be able to keep my calcium up better. I still buffer for alk and ph though like these other guys are saying.
