Hi everyone. Sorry if I'm posting this question in the wrong place but it's my first post here and it wouldn't allow me to post anywhere else.
I have some serpae tetras that each have one small white growth on their lower lips. It's not cottony looking, more like a string.
Meds wise, I'm not sure what to try. I went through 3 rounds of kanaplex and one round of fungus guard with no change.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance! [ATTACH
1~What type of fish is afflicted? Serpae tetras have a white string-like growth on lower lip.
2~What are your tank parameters (ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, temp, pH)? Temp 24c, ph 7.8, ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 5
3~ How large is the tank? How long has the tank been set up? 20 gallon. Set up for 6 weeks.
4~What type of filtration are you using? Marineland Penguin 150
5~How many fish are in the tank? What kinds of fish are they and what are their current sizes? 3 neons, 6 serpae, 5 corycats.
6~When is the last time you did a water change and vacuum the gravel? How often do you do this? How much water do you remove at a time? 2 days ago. I do PWCs when the ammonia+ nitrites=more than 1, otherwise I dose wish Prime. I lost my cycle due to medicating my tank.
7~How long have you had the fish? If the fish is new, how did you acclimate it/them? I've had 3 serpaes for a year and 3 for about a month.
8~Have you added anything new to the tank--decor, new dechlorinator, new substrate, etc.?
Nothing different, just Prime, and I tried kanaplex and tetras fungus guard.
9~What kind of food have you been feeding your fish, have you changed their diet recently?
Tetra crisps and freeze dried blood worms. No change.
