I really can't see what you are trying to describe. Is it a hard tube or a soft thing that you can't touch because it retracts?

It's hard and pointed. It seems to be coming out of the side of the live rock. Scooter Blenny for scale.

I got sponge that looks like that nothing to stress over , if it bothers you you can just break it off
