Sunday I added a couple pieces of driftwood to my 55gal mbuna tank and today I noticed a lot of white stuff growing on it, I'm assuming its algae but what can I do to get rid of it

If its what im thinking it is, its a mold that comes from the wood itself and should clear up by itself. Its happend to me before and its not harmful to your fish.

You do know that driftwood will lower ph in your tank? I though i would mention it because your keeping africans. Some drift wood would be ok but dont go overboard with it.

I know that tannins leeching out of the wood will lower it slightly but I don't think it would be enough to worry about
