I really like my water sprite because it grows and reproduces prolifically. I can use it to fill in my tanks.
But I have a problem. It grows up vibrant and healthy and then, at seemingly random times, and in random tanks, the vibrant stalks die back. They die back and new healthy ones grow out, but its a lot of work to trim out the dead stuff and wait for it to grow back again. The pic on the left shows the left fork of the plants in the vibrant mode while the right fork is dieing back at the same time. The pic on the right shows the front frond growing healthy while the ones in the back are dieing back
I'm using a little over 2 watts/g CF and HO T5, depending on the tank.
I'm dosing regularly with Flourish Excel and Flourish Comprhensive
I'm using Seachem's fert tabs and Aquariumplants.com's fert tabs in the substrate.
The tanks are mostly at 78 degrees
The Ph's are mainly between 6 and 7
Is there anything I can do to make the plants stay healthy instead of going through these cycles of vibrant growth and dieing back?
