I'm looking for a bottom dwelling fish that can stand up to my aquatic turtles. I have a sand substrate and I need something to help me turn over the sand and eat excess food on the bottom. Any help would be appreciated.

Now I'm not too knowledgeable on this topic, a friend and fellow fish keeper once kept a common pleco in the tank with their turtles. Although it was a huge tank with an extremely powerful filter, but plecos tend to be hardy and have protective plates so that's an advantage. Besides that, they also are huge so they can't be swallowed, but also won't bite or attack. Someone may have a better suggestion than me but this is all I can really think of! Good luck in your search
