I purchased 4 labs from my lfs. The guy there didn't seem to bright. I've looked through alot of posts as far as sexing goes. Any one have an Idea.

Second I'm guessing the one on the left is a male. he's doing alot of bulling. But why is his color so much more muted than the others. The other 3 are bright and vibrant and he seems so much more dull, than the others.

That doesn't really mean much, cichlids in general display more or less colors/patterns for a wide variety of reasons. GIve them time to settle into the tank and sort out the pecking order.

The lower fins on a male yellow lab have black edges

Both male and females have black on the pelvic fins. The only true way to tell is to see the female holding or vent the fish.

+1 the only way I tell is when the females hold.
