African or South American?

Am buying a new cichlid tank, but I am not sure what type to get. I've only been keeping fish for a couple years, so what do you think would be a better choice?

Depends on tank size off course, but I'd go the African route if its a larger tank

I love my Africans but my advice to you would be to look at your lfs, see what you're drawn too and go home and do some research...then decide. We can give you our advice all day long but it's your tank and you gotta take care of it. Get something you love!
