Blue Ram and Gourami

Hi, so I am working on planning a new tank. Having a hard time picking tank mates. I am interested in the Blue Rams but only Cichlid I have had were Angels. Can I put BR w/Dwarf Gourami? Also do Blue Rams prefer to be the only ram in the tank or can I get 2 or 3. It is a 45g Tall planted tank. One more thing, are rams hard on plants? Thanks

Rams would be perfect they are good with plants they like to be in pairs and they are very shy fish
