I've been informed that the discus I've had my eye on for some time will be given to me for free! :D The catch is, I have to move them home asap, probably tomorrow. I'm going home after work tonight to set up their tank. I'm taking a ton of plants home tonight and I'm tearing down my 20 gallon. The apistos, golden dwarf cichlid, and tetras from the 20 will move into the 29 with my angelfish. The 3 juvie keyholes, 1 Bolivian ram, and 6 tetras from the 29 will move into the new tank. Substrate and filter from the 20 will move to the new tank, along with a new filter. I don't expect to see any cycle.

My major concern is, how low can I go with the temp so that the discus are comfortable, or how high can I go so that the tankmates are comfortable? Would 83 work for everyone?

I'll post pics soon! 8)

I run my tank at 38.5 to keep the discus.
Everyone else in the tank is happy too.

Discus are more touchy when it comes to temp so try and keep them happy and everyone else will adjust.

Esra, as a product of the American education system, I must ask...

What's that in Fahrenheit?

Hey, small typo there.
I meant to say 28.5C

Anyway in F that's 83.3

P.S. you can just google something like "28.5C in F" and it will give you the result.

Works for any conversion, gotta love Google.
