Well it's rather simple really.. Discus are extremely tricky /demanding while ee seem to be a bit more forgiving..

Yes, discuss demand lots of work, water changes and diet but the end result is rewarding.

Earth eaters are much better IMO. They look better to me and don't require as much work to keep them alive.

Earth eaters with out a doubt. Cool colors and shape, they are active and seem to have personality. I would love a big group of them in a large tank.

Discus have never done it for me seem kind of boring. They just sit there. Yes they have an odd appearance which is intriguing at first but after you see them everyday then that is the norm. Plus one wrong move and they are all dead!
