Two days ago I bought what I was told were a pair of electric blue ram, the girl I spoke to in the shop seemed knowledgable but I don’t know if the guy who got them out of the tank in the shop got the right ones. One is constantly chasing the other round the tank and I noticed today the one has a bit missing in the middle of its dorsal fin but I’m not sure if it was like that when I put them in my tank on Friday. I have tried to show in pictures. Can anyone help tell me what sex they are and what is going on with the ones dorsal fin. Tia.

They're def electric blue rams. And they're cichlids. Cichlids are very territorial and show various degrees of aggression. I'm sure the torn fin is from being nipped. If you compared cichlids to say... guppys, then cichlids are great white sharks for aggressive. Semi aggressive means they may not kill each other quickly, peaceful means they prob won't cause tooooo much damage to each other. One thing I know about cichlids, is, they're unpredictable
